How to book Tulki Beach campground near Turquoise Bay in Cape Range NP: Ningaloo monthly releases, availability tips and how to pick up a cancellation.
About Tulki Beach
Tulki Beach is a small campground near the mouth of a dry creek system in the middle of Cape Range National Park. Its claim to fame is location: it's the closest campground to Turquoise Bay, one of the best-known snorkel spots on the whole Ningaloo Coast. The beach in front sits beside the Mandu Sanctuary Zone of Ningaloo Marine Park.
Other park highlights like Oyster Stacks, Lakeside and the Mandu Mandu Gorge walk are all reachable by road within the park, and Milyering Discovery Centre is the park's visitor centre. Exmouth is the nearest town for fuel, food and water.
The campsites
Explore Parks WA lists 11 reverse-in compacted gravel campsites, matching the 11 on Park Stay WA. All are unpowered. Park Stay marks every site as suitable for tents, campervans and caravans, but always check site details and the map against your setup.
The basics:
- No-flush pit toilets, the only hygiene facility
- No drinking water: bring all you need
- Generators allowed at all sites, 8am to 9pm only
- No campfires at any time
- No dogs or other pets
Portable toilet waste must be carried out to an authorised dump point, not emptied into the campground toilets.
How booking works
Book Tulki Beach on Park Stay WA, DBCA's booking system. Bookings are essential and must be made before arrival, one campsite per booking. There's no booking fee, and you pay by Mastercard or Visa.
Two fees apply in Cape Range: a per person, per night camping fee and a per vehicle park entry fee. Pay the entry fee with your booking, on arrival, or use a park pass. Caravans and trailers don't pay entry.
Like all Ningaloo Coast campgrounds, Tulki releases in monthly blocks on the first Tuesday of the month at 10am AWST, rather than 180 days ahead. As of October 2026, stays to 30 April 2027 are open. May 2027 opens at 10am AWST on Tuesday 3 November 2026, June on 1 December 2026, and July on 5 January 2027. There's a virtual waiting room on release mornings, with queue positions assigned randomly at 10am.
You can stay up to 14 nights if any night falls in WA public school holidays, or 28 nights otherwise.
When it sells out
Being the closest camp to Turquoise Bay, with just 11 sites, Tulki is one of the hardest Cape Range campgrounds to get. WA school holidays go first: DBCA flags 10 to 26 April 2027, 3 to 18 July 2027 and 25 September to 10 October 2027 as peak periods. Humpback season, May to October, keeps demand up between holidays.
The December to April period is quieter but extremely hot and falls in cyclone season. DBCA's August 2026 Ningaloo camping FAQ also says Tulki Beach closes for the low-demand season from Sunday 1 November 2026, reopening Monday 15 March 2027 (as of October 2026). Check Park Stay notices before you plan around a particular date.
How to get a cancellation
DBCA's terms let people cancel or change up to 11:59pm AWST the day before arrival, so Tulki sites do come back, just not for long.
Where to focus:
- The two days after a release. Bookings made 3 or more days ahead can be cancelled free for 48 hours, and some people book more than they need on release morning.
- Just before the fee kicks in. Removing peak dates is free more than 14 days ahead; non-peak dates more than 5 days ahead. After that, the fee is one concession camper fee per night per site.
- The last-minute window. Nights can reappear right up to the day before arrival.
On a campground this small, speed matters. Watch Tulki Beach on Aussie Camp Alerts and you'll get an email when a night you want becomes available. The Summer pass sends instant alerts with Telegram and web push if you want a head start.
Getting there
Tulki Beach is inside Cape Range National Park, reached by road from Exmouth. Park Stay lists the campground as 2WD/SUV accessible, though roads may include unsealed sections and conditions vary. Pay your park entry fee or have your park pass sorted before you arrive.
